My general thoughts and reaction to Episode 8 of The Wheel of Time tv series on Amazon Prime

The Wheel of Time series has arrived on Amazon Prime. These are my general (spoiler-free) reactions to the latest episode:

EPISODE 8: THE EYE OF THE WORLD

The episode started out strong. The cold open was enlightening and where the story picked up was riveting. I was quite emotional when an iconic line from the books was uttered. I was past many of the changes. Then, the climax happened.

I am not happy!

There were so many things that happened that threw me for a loop. I just don’t see how they can bring it back to the main story. It is hard to talk about without going into spoilers. Just know that these are my raw emotions, reactions, and thoughts. I did not like how the season ended. There was a scene at the end that was good, but I just couldn’t muster the joy from seeing that scene because of the events that happened during the climax that just left me empty.

To be honest, I don’t know where to go from here. Whether to stick with the show or not. Maybe after some time and I watch the episode again, hear some explanations from the showrunners, get a grip on what I just witnessed. So far, the faith that was restored last episode has nearly been wiped away.

I am a bit shaken from this episode. I will have to return with my deep dive, after the dust has settled and I fully take in the events that unfolded, to see where I go from here.
